About Pairtide

Pairtide is a calm mahjong solitaire built on one promise: every deal can be cleared. Match and clear pairs of mahjong tiles from the traditional 144-tile set — dots, bamboo, characters, winds, dragons, flowers and seasons — until the table is empty, at your own pace, with no clock working against you.

Every board is dealt backwards from a finished table: the game clears an empty layout first and only then hands out the tiles, so a way through always exists. A shuffle rebuilds the board the same way, which is why it can always be cleared too.

How to Play

Pairtide follows the classic mahjong solitaire rules, so there is nothing new to learn.

1. Tap a tile, then tap a matching one to clear both. Dots, bamboo and characters match within their own suit and number; winds and dragons match their own face; any flower matches any flower, and any season matches any season.
2. Only a tile that is not covered, with a clear left or right side, is free to take — the same rule the deal itself is built on.
3. No free pair on the board? Undo is always free, and the first shuffle on every board costs nothing either.
4. Clear every tile to finish the board. Three stars reward a clean run: one for clearing, one for beating the target time, one for using no hints and no shuffles.

Fair Help

Undo never costs anything. The first hint and the first shuffle on every board are free too; after that, a hint or a shuffle costs a few coins, and the game always asks before spending them. A setting can highlight which tiles are free to take, for whenever the table gets busy.

Sign in with Google Play Games for two leaderboards, Journey and Daily Deal, plus 12 achievements and statistics on your best times and longest streaks. Your progress is saved to your account, so a new phone picks up right where the last one left off.
