Callbreak is a trick-taking card game for four players, each playing alone. Everyone gets 13 cards and calls how many tricks they will win. Spades are always trump. Make your call and you score it, plus 0.1 for each extra trick; miss it and you lose your call. After five rounds, the highest total wins.
Transcript
- Callbreak is a card game for four players, and everyone plays for themselves. There are no partners.
- Each player gets thirteen cards. Ace is high, and spades always beat the other suits.
- Before play, call how many tricks you will win, from one to eight. Your call is only yours.
- Follow the suit that was led. If you can beat the winning card, you must.
- If you have none of the suit led, you must play a spade, higher than any spade already played if you can.
- The highest spade wins the trick. With no spade played, the highest card of the suit led wins, and that player leads next.
- Win at least your call and you score it, plus one tenth for each extra trick. Call four, win six: four point two.
- Win fewer tricks than you called and you lose your call. Call four, win three: minus four.
- Play five rounds. The player with the highest total score wins the game.
- Deal Circle Callbreak is coming soon to Google Play and iOS, with fair computer players and a journey to play through.
