These steps are for PDF Maker, our Android app. The app does the work on your phone; this web page does not touch your files.
How to crop a PDF
- Open PDF Maker and tap Crop PDF in the PDF group, then choose the file.
- Pick a mode:
- Auto: white margins are found on each page and cut away.
- Margins: drag the corners, and the same margins are cut from each page.
- Box: drag the corners or the box to choose the part of the page you keep.
- Choose All pages or This page.
- Tap Crop, then save or share the new PDF.
Hidden or removed?
By default the cut-off part is removed from view: PDF readers and printers show only the cropped area. Turn on Keep the cut-off part if you may want it back: it is then hidden, not deleted, and another PDF editor can restore it. Do not use cropping to hide private information; use Redact PDF in the app for that, which removes it for good.
When cropping helps
- Reading a document with wide margins on a small screen: Auto crop makes the text larger.
- Removing the dark border a phone photo or a scanner leaves around a page.
- Keeping just a receipt, a table or a signature block from a full page, before you merge it with other files.
- A page that is sideways? Rotate it first, then crop.
Crop PDF has no daily limit and runs on your phone; nothing is uploaded.
Questions
How do I crop a PDF on my phone?
Open PDF Maker, tap Crop PDF, choose Auto, Margins or Box, pick all pages or this page, and tap Crop.
Can I remove white margins from every page at once?
Yes. Auto finds and cuts the white margins of each page; Margins cuts the same margins from all pages.
Does cropping reduce quality?
No. The text stays text and pictures keep their sharpness; only the visible area changes.
Is the cut-off part deleted?
It is no longer shown. With "Keep the cut-off part" on, it is hidden and can be restored in another editor.
