How to convert a PDF to PowerPoint
- Open PDF Maker and tap PDF to PowerPoint in the Convert group.
- Choose the PDF.
- Leave Exact look (pictures) off to get slides you can edit, or turn it on if the slides must look exactly like the pages and you will not change them.
- Tap Convert, then open, share or save the .pptx file.
Editable slides or an exact copy
Editable (the default): the text goes into text boxes where it was on the page, with the same fonts, sizes and colours; pictures stay pictures, tables become slide tables, and the page's lines, shapes and fills form the slide background. You can change words, move boxes and add slides.
Exact look (pictures): each slide is the page drawn as one picture. It looks exactly like the PDF, which is handy for presenting a document, but the text cannot be edited.
The slides take the shape of the first page, so a landscape PDF gives widescreen slides. The .pptx opens in any presentation app that reads PowerPoint files.
Scanned pages
Pages without real text are read with text recognition (Latin scripts and Devanagari) so their words land in text boxes; a page the app cannot read is added as a picture.
